iPi Soft releases iPi Motion Capture 2.0

Motion capture with two Kinects and iPi Motion Capture. Version 2.0 of the software has just been released.

iPi Soft has begun shipping iPi Motion Capture 2.0, the new version of its family of low-cost mocap tools.

We covered the new features in iPi Motion Capture 2.0, which include better tracking of female characters and support for Kinect for Windows and Asus’s Xtion hardware, when it was announced in March.

According to the developer’s website, multiple character tracking, mentioned in the original announcement, will follow in the fall, along with prop and head tracking and the option to keyframe – if not track – finger movements.

The software is available now for Windows XP, Vista and 7. The Express edition costs $295, the Basic edition $595, and the top-of-the range Standard edition – the only version to get multi-character tracking – is temporarily available at its old price of $995 before rising to a new MSRP of $1,195.
