Sapphire 2025 adds two new effects for mimicking the look of analog film, recreating the look of 1980s VHS tapes, and adding light leaks to transitions.
Sapphire 2025: new VHSDamage and DissolveLightLeak effects
Sapphire 2025 adds two new effects for recreating the look of analog film.
S_VHSDamage the visual artifacts that occur in 1980s videotapes, while S_DissolveLightLeak adds light leaks to transitions between video clips.
The existing S_PixelSort and S_TVDamage effects get new controls for downsampled stylization, and S_TVDamage also now runs on the GPU.
There are also 50 new presets for existing effects, and 8 new and updated lens flares.
In addition, changes under the hood mean that Sapphire effects should now render identically across all host applications. You can find more details of the changes in the online release notes.
