Unity releases Unity 2022 LTS
Unity has released Unity 2022 LTS, its latest Long Term Support edition of the game engine.
The release includes all of the features added to the software in Unity 2022.1 and Unity 2022.2, and will continue to receive regular fixes for two years.
No features added since 2022.2, but fixes until mid-2024
Unity’s LTS releases are intended for developers who want to embark on major projects without the risk of needing to update their software in the middle of production.
As a result, Unity 2022 LTS doesn’t have any new features compared to Unity 2022.2, just bugfixes; but will continue to receive regular fixes, including those backported from future releases, until mid-2025.
New features for CG artists since Unity 2021 LTS
For artists, key changes since Unity 2021 LTS, the previous Long Term Support release, include the new water system and updates to cloud layers in the HDRP and to forward+ rendering in the URP.
