Blur Studio environment artist Andrew Averkin has released Hard Surface Kitbash Pack 1, a free set of over 400 readymade mechanical parts designed for concepting and modelling hard-surface sci-fi objects.
The kit comprises 414 individual objects, collected into 108 mesh groups, and mimics real-world pistons, pivots, joints, armatures and linkages for quickly roughing out realistic-looking mechs and machinery.
The files are provided both as scene files for 3ds Max 2014 to 2017, and in FBX and OBJ format, so they can be used in most 3D applications.

Averkin also has two other useful resources on his website: a set of 200 free hard-surface brushes and a set of 50 free environment modelling brushes for ZBrush, Substance Painter and Quixel Suite.
