Luis Manuel Morillo’s finished tribute to Optimus Prime. The transformation sequence starts at 1:05.
Lone VFX artist Luis Manuel Morillo has completed an 18-month labour of love to recreate Industrial Light & Magic’s insanely complex model of Optimus Prime/Jetfire from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
The finished model, which is fully rigged and textured, weighs in at 8,380,430 polygons and thousands of individually modelled pieces.
Morillo has just released a GPU-rendered demo video (above) showing the model in action in a simple scene. Check it out and boggle.
