Create Cinematic Concept Art for Films and Games


The Gnomon Workshop has released Cinematic Concept Art for Films & Games, a detailed guide to creating concept art recorded by Larian Studios Art Director Jarold Sng.

The workshop provides over six hours of video training in Photoshop, Daz Studio and Blender.

Discover how to create concept art for VFX, animations and videogames
In the workshop, Sng covers the process of concept art suitable for use in visual effects projects, animations or videogames, from initial preparation to final image.

He begins with sketching and photobashing techniques in Photoshop, then moves to Blender to bring the ideas to life, covering sculpting, modeling, material creation and lighting techniques.

As well as the tutorial videos, viewers of the workshop can download Sng’s Photoshop and Blender project files.

About the artist
Jarold Sng is Art Director at game developer Larian Studios, and co-founder of games outsourcing firm Top Ten Studios.

Projects he has worked on as a concept artist include Gears of War and StarCraft: Remastered.
