Eye candy: Gnomon’s gorgeous 2022 Student Reel
Gnomon has released its 2022 showreel, showcasing the best work created by students at the leading CG school in fields ranging from VFX and game development to environment art and character design.
The video provides a seven-minute round-up of some of the world’s best student art: Gnomon has been voted overall school of the year three times by leading international digital art awards body The Rookies.

The reel kicks off with at atmospheric animation from matte painter and CG generalist Devon Rush: a previous Grand Prize winner at Gnomon’s Best of Term Awards.
It is followed by over seven minutes of digital art ranging in style from the photorealistic to the fantastic, in fields including visual effects, animation, game development, and character and environment design.
In many cases, you can catch a glimpse of how the art was created, with timelapses, model turntables and animation breakdowns revealing the hard work that went into the final renders.
