RE:Vision Effects has released DE:Noise 3, the latest version of its noise-removal tool for editing and compositing software, adding a new noise-reducing filter and GPU support.
The software reduces common frame-to-frame defects like sensor noise, drop-outs, dust and fingerprints, and even flicker from GI renders.
New noise filter for severe cases, OpenCL-based GPU acceleration
One new feature in version 3 is the new noise-reducing filter, which is targeted at “shots with object edges and features greatly damaged by compression, rendering and noisy camera capture artifacts”.
The other is GPU support, making DE:Noise 3 the latest of RE:Vision Effects’ tools to be GPU-accelerated.
The developer claims speed boosts of up to 4.5x when using the GPU over running DE:Noise in CPU mode. As with its other plugins, GPU support is based on OpenCL, not CUDA, and requires a relatively low-spec card.
Pricing and availability
DE:Noise 3 is available now for After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Vegas Pro, Nuke, Scratch, Fusion, HitFilm, DaVinci Resolve and Natron. You can find a list of versions supported here.
A node-locked licence costs $149.95 for most host sofware, or $189.95 for Nuke, Scratch and Fusion.
