Price of paid Unity subscriptions to rise, but free subs extended

Unity is to increase the price of its paid Pro and Enterprise subscriptions by 5% in January 2026.
In addition, physics add-on Havok Physics for Unity will be removed from Pro, Enterprise and Industry subscriptions to the game engine, beginning with the upcoming Unity 6.3 LTS release.
However, the cloud-based DevOps tools available with free Unity Personal subscriptions will be extended, with all users now getting unlimited free cloud seats for Unity Version Control.
The first annual price rises since the cancellation of the Runtime Fee
The price changes are the first since Unity scrapped its controversial proposed Runtime Fee last September, shortly before it was due to come into force.
At the time, Unity CEO Matt Bromberg said that the firm would “revert to a more traditional cycle of considering any potential price increases only on an annual basis”.
Unity has now done just that, announcing a 5% increase in the price of its Pro and Enterprise subscriptions on 12 January 2026.
That will take the cost of a Pro subscription to $2,310/year. Enterprise subscriptions are priced on enquiry.
Havok Physics for Unity dropped from paid subscriptions
In addition, Havok Physics for Unity, the Unity edition of the Havok physics engine, will be dropped from paid subscriptions on the release of Unity 6.3.
Unity 6.3, the next long-term support release of the game engine, is currently in beta.
Havok Physics remains available as a paid add-on for both Unity and Unreal Engine.
Free Personal subscriptions now include unlimited cloud seats for Unity Version Control
Unlike paid plans, Unity’s free Personal subscriptions, available to artists and studios with revenues under $200,000/year, will provide rather more for the (lack of) money.
The free tier of Unity Version Control, currently capped at three seats, will include unlimited free seats when running in the public cloud.
The accompanying free cloud storage capacity will rise from 5GB to 25GB.
The free tier of Unity Build Automation, previously limited to Windows builds, will be extended to macOS and iOS, and will include 100 free Mac build minutes.
The changes to Unity Version Control and Unity Build Automation are expected to come into effect “by the end of Q1 2026”, but Unity hasn’t given an exact date.
