Chaos Cosmos gets new Globe Plants and Evermotion assets

Chaos has added over 30,000 assets to Chaos Cosmos, the library of stock 3D assets available as part of subscriptions to its software.

The content, which increases the size of the library by 400%, comes through new partnerships with architectural asset specialist Evermotion and 3D plant model library Globe Plants.

In related news, Chaos Cosmos will also soon feature the public beta of Chaos’s AI Material Generator, a new tool for generating PBR materials from real-world reference photos.

A library of architectural 3D assets integrated into V-Ray, Corona and Vantage
Originally launched in 2021, Chaos Cosmos is a library of stock assets for dressing 3D scenes, particularly for architectural visualization work.

It is already integrated into Chaos’s V-Ray and Corona renderers, and scene exploration tool Vantage, and is due to be integrated into Enscape later this year.

Over 30,000 new stock assets from Evermotion and Globe Plants
The latest update represents a major expansion for Cosmos: according to Chaos, it increases the size of the library by around 400%.

The new assets come from partnerships from two leading stock asset providers: architectural asset provider Evermotion and 3D plant model library Globe Plants.

The Evermotion assets are aimed at a range of environment types – home and garden, public spaces, and urban environments – but the majority seem to be furniture and household items.

The Globe Plants assets are, not surprisingly, 3D plants, with a particular focus on Asian species, including aquatic plants and rainforest vegetation.

In total, they comprise over 30,000 high-poly assets for final-quality renders, and 14,000 low-poly versions intended for real-time use.

New AI Material Generator due in beta this month
In related news, Chaos has also announced that it plans to add the beta release of AI Material Generator to Chaos Cosmos this month.

The new tool “transforms any real-world surface photo into a seamless, render-ready PBR material”.

There isn’t a lot of detail about it in Chaos’s blog post, but it will become available with the release of V-Ray 7 Update 2 for 3ds Max, so we hope to cover it in more detail at the time.

Price and licensing
Chaos Cosmos is available as part of Chaos’s product subscriptions, including Corona and V-Ray subscriptions and the new Chaos suites. You can find pricing details in this story.

The new Evermotion and Globe Plants assets will be available to all subscribers, but the exact number you have access to will depend on which subscription you have.
