Autodesk has just posted its latest visual effects showreel, showcasing some of the best recent projects on which tools like Maya, 3ds Max and Flame have been used.
Although, as you might expect, there are a fair number of blockbuster VFX movies (Deadpool, Independence Day 2, Ghostbusters) in there, the reel is actually quite heavy on shorter-form work.
That means some excellent commercials, from both Western powerhouses like The Mill and Framestore, and Eastern ones like Korea’s Solid VFX Lab.
There is also some nice animation work, ranging from LAIKA’s Oscar-nominated Kubo and the Two Strings, to charming shorts like Moonbot Studios’ Taking Flight and Oculus Story Studio’s Pearl.
If you like what you see, you can also find more Autodesk eye candy in the firm’s 2017 games reel.
