Jeffrey Wilson, president of Second Chance Games and VFX, has just released a set of high-resolution 3D scan data of a female head, originally intended for use in a commercial project.
The asset pack comprises three ZTL files and one set of OBJs, and includes both raw data captured from an Artec Spider scanner, and a high-resolution ZBrush sculpt generated from the scan data.
You also get four sets of reference images of the model, with and without makeup, captured using a cross-polarisation technique to remove specular highlights.
The files are licensed under a Creative Commons – Attribution-NoDerivatives 4.0 licence, so you couldn’t use them for commercial work, but they’re a nice set of test data.
Wilson asks that anyone using the files emails Second Chance and posts images of their results via its Facebook page.
