e-on ships Vue xStream 2014.5 and Infinite 2014.5

e-on software’s current customer reel. The developer has just shipped Vue 2014.5: a free update to the pro editions of the software that adds new tools for interior lighting, and better integration with The Plant Factory.

e-on software has released Vue 2014.5: a free update to the professional xStream and Infinite editions of the environment-generation software that adds a couple of new rendering and workflow features.

New indoor lighting tools, better Plant Factory integration
First up, rendering. Artists creating interior scenes get a range of new and improved IES light presets; and the option to place light portals in a scene to better replicate the effect of light passing through windows or doors.

In terms of workflow, assets created in e-on’s new plant-creation tool, The Plant Factory, now render up to 20 times faster in Vue 2014.5; and changes to the normal-mapping algorithms improve render quality.

Users also get “better access to TPF plant published parameters and mesh resolution in the Plant Editor [and] compatibility with Plant Factory 2014.5‘s lightweight preset technology”.

That’s pretty much it: as far as we can see, everything else featured on the product pages in the links below was introduced in the original 2014 release.

Pricing and system requirements
Vue 2014.5 is available now for for Windows XP and above, and Mac OS X 10.5 and above. The update is free for all Vue xStream and Infinite 2014 users, regardless of whether they have a maintenance subscription.

New licences of Vue xStream 2014.5 cost $1,695, while Vue Infinite 2014.5 costs $1,295.
