If you live in the US, you probably caught last Sunday’s opening episode for HBO fantasy saga Game of Thrones. The pilot was so successful, a second series was commissioned within 48 hours.
But if you missed it (or, like CG Channel’s news team, live on the wrong side of the Atlantic), you can now check out the eye-catching two-minute title sequence online.
Created by director’s collective Elastic, the credits gleefully mash up different CG styles. The result is as much game cinematic or architect’s massing diagram as it is conventional visual effects – but all the cooler for it.
