Master Enemy Creature Design for Games

The Gnomon Workshop has released Enemy Creature Design for Games: Flesh-Tek, a new two-part series of concept design tutorials, recorded by veteran artist J.P. Targete.

Volume 1, available now, provides four hours of video training on creating a final coloured 2D concept for a boss creature in Photoshop.

Volume 2, due later this year, will explore how to translate the concept into a painted 3D sculpt in 3DCoat.

Volume 1: create a finished concept for an enemy creature in Photoshop
In the first workhop, Targete demonstrates how to design an enemy creature for a videogame in Photoshop, from ideation sketch through to the finished concept design.

Throughout this workshop, he reveals his throught process as he iterates from one idea to the next to create variants of a design, and sets out the Photoshop techniques he has used throughout his career.

Viewers of the workshop can download Photoshop files for his ideation design and final concept design.
