Download 50 free 3D models of jungle plants

Epic Games has made over 50 3D models of jungle plants created by Indonesia-based environment artist Baiquni Abdillah, aka PolyAsset3D, available free from the Unreal Engine Marketplace.

The assets, all South East Asian species, are available as part of PolyAsset3D’s Tropical Jungle Pack.

The content forms part of Epic’s free marketplace content for August 2020, which also includes a separate pack of rigged models of seven African animals.

50 models of real South East Asian jungle plants with PBR materials
The Tropical Jungle Pack comprises 50 plant models, plus rocks and a river asset, with vertex counts ranging from 91 to 5,663 vertices, and some with billboard LODs.

The plants include trees, ferns, grasses and other flowering plants, and are based on real South East Asian species, including banyan figs, palms and Rafflesia.

The assets have PBR material with texture resultions up to 4,096 x 4,096px, and support “realistic wind movements” and a shader-based player interaction system when using them inside Unreal Engine.

System requirements and availability
Tropical Jungle Pack is available free via the Unreal Engine Marketplace during August 2020. It is compatible with Unreal Engine 4.19+.

The marketplace usage rights permit assets not created by Epic Games itself to be exported to other game engines and DCC software, although obviously, some features require UE4 to work.
