Marmoset has announced Marmoset Viewer, a free WebGL exporter for Toolbag 2, its real-time render toolkit for games artists, that will enable users to publish and share 3D models for viewing in a web browser.
As in Toolbag itself, the exported model can be displayed with physically based shaders and image-based lighting, meaning that the preview should be close to the way the asset looks in-game.
The output looks great, and according to the Viewer product page, users will be able to author presentations to display their content: the video above an interactive overlay displaying the key texture maps on a model.
Pricing and availability
Marmoset Viewer will be free to registered users of Toolbag 2. So far, no release date has been announced.
