Back HitFilm for Mac and save on HitFilm for Windows

FXhome is running a Kickstarter campaign to fund a Mac version of HitFilm, its FX and compositing software, with a rather unusual perk – by pledging enough, you can save $150 on the existing Windows edition.

Anyone pledging £165 or more (around $250) will get both editions of HitFilm 2 Ultimate when the Mac version is released. Since the Windows edition normally costs $399, it’s possible to benefit even if you don’t own a Mac.

Such ‘Hitfilmer’-level backers also get their names in the in-software credits, and a bunch of other freebies.

Given that, even at full price, HitFilm Ultimate offers a lot of bang for your buck – including a non-linear editor, 3D compositor, 3D particle system and Imagineer Systems’ mocha planar tracker – it’s a pretty great deal.

At time of posting, the campaign is just over halfway to its £25,000 goal, with 20 days to go.
