Eye candy: the new Arnold renderer showreel

Solid Angle has posted a new showreel of work created using Arnold – and one that gives the lie to the belief that the raytrace renderer is “just for big studios”.

The facilities whose work features in the reel – including Digic Pictures, Glassworks and Psyop – are all well known, but few are of the scale of Solid Angle’s best-known clients such as Sony Pictures Imageworks and ILM.

There’s a nice mix of feature work, cinematics and commercials, too: some of which will already be familiar to regular CG Channel readers.

If you want to know more about Arnold, Solid Angle’s website remains as enigmatic as ever, but fxguide has a good article on the The Art of Rendering, which covers the software in some detail.

Hat tip to Max Underground for spotting the reel.
