Luxion releases KeyShot 3.3 and KeyShotVR


An animation rendered with KeyShot 3. Developer Luxion has just released version 3.3 of the software, along with KeyShotVR: a new add-on for generating interactive 3D representations of models for display online.

Luxion has released KeyShot 3.3, the latest update to its intuitive real-time raytracer, including a new option for generating interactive 3D representations of models for online use.

The KeyShotVR add-on, announced at Siggraph, enables users to create turntables, spherical, hemispherical or custom views of a model, for viewing in any HTML5-enabled web browser.

KeyShot 3.3 costs $995 for the standard edition, or $1,995 for the Pro version. KeyShotVR costs $1,000.

KeyShotVR is an optional add-on that introduces an additional rendering option with settings to create different four different VR types and produce a touch-enabled 3D experience that can be embedded within any webpage. Color Selector
KeyShot 3.3 introduces a new color selector, accessible for any color option in the KeyShot Project panel. The new Color Selection dialog allows KeyShot users to pick colors from anywhere on their screen with the added ability to save selected colors to a new palette.

Support for Autodesk Inventor 2013
Luxion continues to bring the widest variety of import options of any 3D rendering software and introduces support for Autodesk Inventor 2013 files. Autodesk Inventor users are able to import their 3D data directly into KeyShot, retaining the colors, names and assembly structure.

Additional enhancements for KeyShot 3.3 include:
Improved support for texture coordinates from SolidWorks
Improvements to importers including NX, Parasolid, Creo, and Inventor
Several bug fixes
