FlippedNormals is closing its online marketplace on 31 March

FlippedNormals is to close its popular online marketplace for 3D assets and training.

All of the assets on the site are now on sale ahead of the closure on 31 March 2026, and users will then have until 30 April 2026 to download anything they have paid for.

End of an era for the popular online 3D marketplace
In posts on their social media channels, the FlippedNormals team attributed the decision to the rising costs of running a large online store, writing:

“This was not a decision made lightly. Over the last few years, the costs of maintaining a store with thousands of creators have increased significantly, while earnings have decreased.”

“We have done everything in our power to keep the marketplace afloat, including significant team salary reductions, but it has become clear that the current model is no longer sustainable.”

The marketplace currently features assets from 3,500 creators, including 3D models and brushes, and training for software including Blender, the Substance 3D tools, ZBrush and UE5.

All of that content is now on sale before the marketplace closes on 31 March, and users will then have a further month to download their purchases before file hosting is switched off on 30 April.

The FlippedNormals brand will continue on a new website devoted to products sold exclusively through the site, and its FlipBox product bundles.
