Check out 3D anatomy reference apps Hand Poses Lite and Pro

Haele 3D – aka artist and developer Ige Olwen – has released Hand Poses Lite and Hand Poses Pro, two virtual anatomy reference apps for sketching, painting and sculpting.

The Unreal Engine 5-based apps, also sometimes known as Hand Poser Lite and Pro, let artists quickly pose and light 3D hand models to create anatomy reference images.

Pose and customize a 3D hand to create anatomy references when drawing or sculpting
The apps provide an alternative to a live model – or trying to draw your own hands at strange angles – and come with male and female hand morphs and a range of preset skin tones.

Users can pose the 3D hand model manually, or choose from presets for common hand poses, and customise the scene lighting and camera properties to create reference images.

The Pro edition also comes with a range of props around which the hands can be posed, including weapons like swords and guns, tools, a car steering wheel, a book, and food items.

The apps are intended for generating 2D reference imagery, so it isn’t possible to export the posed 3D models: sadly, Olwen tells us the functionality is unlikely to be added in future.

The tools are Haele 3D’s latest anatomy apps, following the release of the self-explanatorily titled – and meme-tasticFeet Poser Pro.

Price and system requirements
Hand Poses Lite and Hand Poses Pro are compatible with Windows 10+. Hand Poses Lite has a MSRP of $17.99. Hand Poses Pro has a MSRP of $29.99
