Master movie-quality crowd simulation with Massive Prime

The Gnomon Workshop has released Introduction to Massive Prime, a comprehensive guide to the crowd simulation software, recorded by Reza Ghobadinic, global head of Framestore’s crowds department.

During the masterclass, Ghobadinic reveals how to create, test and render crowd simulations suitable for use in professional visual effects and feature animation work, sharing his own industry-proven tips and tricks.

A complete guide to professional crowd simulation in Massive Prime
Over the course of more than 11 hours of video training, Ghobadinic explores how to produce credible crowd simulations for film and TV using the Academy Award-winning Massive Prime software.

The masterclass reveals how to create crowd agents from scratch, gradually adding features to improve their behaviour, and emphasising the importance of a systematic workflow when designing their AI ‘brains’.

Ghobadinic also covers how to create a biped crowd agent from a skinned rig, how to edit animation clips to use with the agent, and how to create a dynamic explosion simulation scene.
