Transformers: War for Cybertron at E3

Developed by High Moon Studios, this take on the “oh so treasured dear and deep in our hearts” Transformers franchise looks to be an original and fun approach to what we all know and love.  Unlike the latest Bay interpretation, High Moon is taking us back to G1 baby! That’s right people, so for all you die-hard original Transformers fans out there this is the game for you.  The style of these transformers as we find them back on their home planet of Cybertron is far more relevant to the original series with a modernization that holds truer to the original G1 design.

The game will feature campaign that can be three player drop in drop out and multi-player modes where you will be able choose either Decepticons or Autobots.  There are four different classes that you can level up your character through.  The campaign will take you about 10-12 hours of awesome transforming fun.  Multi player has 6 different modes including the classics such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the flag, etc and a few new ones like Countdown to Extinction-where you’ll pick up a neutral bomb and try to plant it behind enemy lines for points.  Multiplayer has customizable characters who’s class you will choose at the start of each match.  There is also a new Escalation mode, which is similar to the Gears of War Horde mode with a transformers twist where you’ll be able to purchase new and different weapons using credits earned as you progress through the waves.  After having played the team death-match mode at E3 I am entirely impressed that this will be quite a fun title to get into with friends.  No need to wait for this great new TF game it comes out today, 06/22/2010, for PS3 and Xbox 360.
