XP-Pen unveils Artist Pro 16TP touchscreen pen display

XP-Pen has unveiled its Artist Pro 16TP pen display. The $900 display, due to ship at the end of the month, is the first in XP-Pen’s Artist Pro series of professional pen displays to operate at 4K UHD resolution.

A high-end professional 4K pen display for under $900
The Artist Pro 16TP is XP-Pen’s highest-resolution professional pen display to date, its native 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160px) resolution exceeding that of the 2K QHD (2,560 X 1,440px) Artist 24 Pro.

The new model is a 15.6-inch touchscreen model (406.4 x 263.1 x 15.4mm) with laminated anti-glare glass that XP-Pen describes as providing a much less grainy-looking display than conventional anti-glare coatings.

Its other specs are typical for a high-end modern pen display: a colour gamut of 92% Adobe RGB, 88% NTSC or 124% sRGB, and 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity and a 60° tilt range for the stylus.

It is compatible with Windows, macOS and Android devices, connecting via two built-in USB-C ports.

The launch makes XP-Pen the latest manufacturer to support UHD resolution in its professional pen displays, following Huion’s similarly priced Kamvas Pro 16 and Wacom’s more expensive Cintiq Pro range.

Pricing and system requirements
The Artist Pro 16TP is compatible with Windows 7+, Mac OS X 10.10+ and Android devices including recent Huawei Mate and Samsung Galaxy mobiles. It is expected to begin shipping on 30 June 2021.

The pen display has a MSRP of $899.99, but at the time of writing, is available at a 15% launch discount.
