Allegorithmic launches Substance Database 2.0

Allegorithmic has launched Substance Database 2.0, the latest version of its library of readymade procedural materials for use in game engines and 3D software, now including over 650 PBR materials.

The release continues Allegorithmic’s ‘Year of PBR’, following the release of its free downloadable PDFs explaining physically based workflows, The Comprehensive PBR Guide.

Both Substance Designer and Substance Painter, Allegorithmic’s games texturing tools, support PBR shading.

What’s in the database?
Substance Database 2.0 contains over 1,000 materials in Substance format, compatible with Unreal Engine, Unity, Maya, 3ds Max, Modo and Mixamo’s Fuse character creator. Being procedural, all are fully customisable.

The library also comes with a free viewer application for browsing the Substances.

Pricing and availability
A site licence of Substance Database 2.0 costs $1,590. The upgrade is free to existing Substance Database owners, and new licences are available at half price until 11 March 2015.
