CoreCG halves price of MentalCore 1.7 for Maya
CoreCG has halved the price of MentalCore, its mental ray rendering toolkit for Maya, dropping the price of a node-locked licence from $199 to $99.
The plugin is intended to plug holes in the vanilla shading and lighting pipeline when rendering with mental ray.
New features in version 1.7
The price cut coincides with the release of MentalCore 1.7, which adds support for Maya 2015, plus a new LoD system and options to export animated geometry in a compressed format and import it on demand at render time.
MentalCore 1.7 is available for Maya 2013 and above on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. A node-locked licence costs $99, and a floating licence costs $149 for a floating licence, including five render licences.
