Will Wallace, senior FX artist at Hydraulx, has posted a nice new video tutorial explaining how to create more controllable animated destruction effects in 3ds Max – with a little assistance from cebas’s thinkingParticles plugin.
The one-hour video explores how to set up a thinkingParticles rig using procedural activators and only force values, and how to implement object-oriented value changes using wire linking.
Want to watch the result first? You can see the resulting animation here on Vimeo.
