VFX artist and tools developer Thomas Marcos has released a handy free Procedural Clouds Shader for Blender.
The lightweight shader is designed for use in real production conditions, and is compatible with Blender’s Eevee and Cycles renderers.
A lightweight cloud shader for VFX and motion graphics production
Marcos has over five years’ experience in VFX, as a 3D Generalist at Belgian studios benuts and Mac Guff Belgium, and the cloud shader is designed for a “production-like context”.
It generates realistic-looking cloud layers without external textures, with the clouds shown in the demo video above rendering in 30-60 seconds per frame.
Price and system requirements
Thomas Marcos’s Procedural Clouds Shader compatible with Blender 4.4+. It’s free, but if you like it, you can make a voluntary donation when downloading the file.
