Download 30 free flamethrower effects from ActionVFX
Stock effects site ActionVFX has made its Flamethrowers asset pack, previously sold for over $200, free to download for a week.
The pack, which includes 5K RED files and 4K ProRes clips of real-world flamethrowers, is suitable for use in VFX and motion graphics projects, and is available free until 13 January 2026.
High-resolution, high-frame-rate footage of real flamethrowers for use in VFX shots
The Flamethrowers asset pack comprises 30 clips of real-world flamethrowers, shot on a RED Gemini 35K camera at 96fps at various angles, including side-on and first-person view.
As well as the original unkeyed R3D files, you can download keyed footage with the background removed as 12-bit ProRes 4444 footage at 2K or 4K resolution.
As well as actual flamethrowers, the clips can be used to create more magical shots – suggested use case include dragon breath and general fantasy effects.
The price of the asset pack has varied since its release four years ago, but it was available last year for 20 download credits: equivalent to $276 on a monthly Individual subscription.
