IDV has posted its latest client reel for SpeedTree Cinema, its software for generating realistic animated trees for visual effects and feature animation.
It’s a who’s who of major VFX houses and Hollywood franchises, with Double Negative, Iloura, ILM and MPC all present and correct, alongside their work in the Star Wars and Marvel cinematic universes.
Inevitably, the effects themselves tend to feature trees, but there’s a surprising amount of action, with the forests in question often being destroyed by helicopters, spacecraft, superheroes and/or giant apes.
Our one minor gripe is that the studios responsible aren’t identified on screen during the shots, but there’s a full list at the end of the video, and in the blurb accompanying it on YouTube.
