Master the fundamentals of gesture drawing

The Gnomon Workshop has released Gesture Drawing Fundamentals, a guide to techniques for sketching people in dynamic poses, recorded by illustrator April Connors.

The workshop is aimed both at artists aiming to build their skills in capturing the human figure, and those who are already familiar with figure drawing.

Master essential skills for sketching human figures in dynamic poses
Being able to create characters with visual rhythm and to recreate expressive gestures are critical skills for artists working in any visual medium.

In the 4.5-hour workshop, Connors sets out the fundamentals of sketching figures in dynamic poses, demonstrating techniques that work for both life drawing and when drawing from the imagination.

The demonstrations are carried out in Clip Studio Paint, but the exercises can be followed in any drawing or painting software, or any physical medium.

As well as the training videos themeselves, viewers of the workshop can download a set of photos of figures in action poses that can be used as references for future projects.
