Red Giant releases Trapcode Suite 15.1

Red Giant has released Trapcode Suite 15.1, the latest version of its set of motion graphics and VFX plugins for After Effects, making it possible to emit particles from text and masks without creating precomps.

New in Particular 4.1 and Form 4.1: generate particles directly from text or masks
The update focuses on two of the suite’s plugins: 3D particle tool Particular and particle grid tool Form.

Both get the ability to use text or custom masks directly as particle emitters, removing the need to create precomps when creating effects like flaming logos or write-on sequences.

The Shadowlet system, used to generate particle self-shading, has also been updated, making it possible to control the softness of Shadowlets, and to match their shape automatically to that of the source particles.

None of the nine other plugins in suite receive updates this time round.

Pricing and availability
Trapcode Suite 15.1 is available for After Effects CC 2017 and above on Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.11+. The update is free to users of in Trapcode Suite 15.0.

New licences of Trapcode Suite cost $999; individual plugins cost from $99 to $399.
