AXYZ design releases an(i)ma 1.6

AXYZ design has released an(i)ma 1.6, the latest version of its low-cost crowd-animation software for architectural visualisation work.

The tool, which is compatible with 3ds Max and Cinema 4D, is intended as a simpler alternative to full-blown AI-based systems, enabling users to set up animations by creating paths for actors to follow.

The workflow is similar to 3ds Max’s more recent Populate toolset, but with a good range of standard behaviours, and comes with 50 of AXYZ design’s Metropoly 3D animated stock characters.

New cloning options, more stock motions
New features in an(i)ma 1.6 include new cloning features to populate scenes more rapidly; and new motion clips, helping to simulate interactions with other actors and environment objects like doors.

The UI has also been revamped, and performance improved, although AXYZ design doesn’t quantify the speed boost. The software is compatible with V-Ray 3.0 and the Rebus Render Farm online rendering service.

Pricing and availability
An(i)ma 1.6 is available now for Windows only, price €349 (around $480), including five workstation and unlimited network render licences, and the connection plugins for 3ds Max and Cinema 4D.

There is also a free trial edition, limited to one workstation and three network licences, and with five of the fifty stock characters available in the Premium edition.
