The Foundry has announced a new educational discount enabling students and teachers to rent its software for a fraction of the standard purchase price.
Under the new scheme, students and teachers on VFX-related courses lasting a year or more will be able to obtain annual licences of NukeX, Mari and the upcoming Hiero for $250 per year.
The deal excludes those studying on online courses, unless they result in a formal degree.
The discount works out at more than 95% of the combined list prices of the three packages. (For comparison, the educational discount offered by Autodesk’s US resellers also works out at a 95% saving on the company’s Premium Entertainment Creation Suite, although for a perpetual rather than one-year licence.)
But whichever way you slice it, it’s a pretty hefty saving. Read the official announcement below.
