Chaos Group’s new hair shader: implemented in V-Ray for 3ds Max 2.0 and now V-Ray for Maya 2.0.
Chaos Group has released an update for V-Ray for Maya 2.0, updating its hair and fur rendering capabilities.
As with the developer’s recent update to V-Ray for 3ds Max, the release adds a dedicated new VRayHairMtl shader, and additional attributes for controlling renders of hair.
V-Ray RT GPU, V-Ray’s GPU-based interactive preview renderer, gains support for texture-mapped rectangle and mesh lights, simple light portals and the VRayBlendMtl material.
The update is free to registered V-Ray for Maya users.
