One-man script development team Marius Silaghi releases more new tools for 3ds Max than we can keep track of. But we thought his latest release, TopoRelax, was worth singling out.
Unlike Max’s normal Relax modifier, TopoRelax relaxes a mesh without changing its volume, resulting in evenly distributed quads without shrinkage – useful for setting up facial morphs, for example.
The resulting topology looks good, and the quad density can be changed simply by dialling a setting up or down. Altogether, a handy plug-in for anyone working with digital sculpts to have in their toolbox.
TopoRelax costs €25 (around $33).
