Voxel sculpting package 3D-Coat is one of the fastest-evolving applications currently being developed – and its latest update runs true to form, adding voxel instancing.
3D-Coat 3.5.08′s new instancing functionality enables artists to reuse basic forms many times throughout a scene without significantly increasing memory overheads: for example, when creating scales or teeth.
3D-Coat champion Phil Nolan has created a demo video showing the feature in use, duplicating a base form to create a 29 million triangle scene. Check it out above.
