The Godot team has released its latest showreels, showcasing games created with the open-source engine.
As you might expect, they don’t have quite the same number of AAA titles as the current Unreal Engine and Unity reels, but they do include an interesting range of games, for desktop, console and mobile platforms.
Of the former, the most familiar will probably be RivenTails: Defence, Kivano’s colourful upcoming tower defence title, which features in some of the Godot engine’s current marketing images – and which, to judge from the gameplay footage, features enemies inspired by its own logo.
Other 3D titles include Gamblify’s virtual greyhound racing game, created for in-store betting terminals, and Miskatonic Studio’s sci-if room escape title Intrepid.
On the 2D front, there is ProtoCorgi, Kemono Games’ ultra-cute upcoming bullet hell title, plus some interesting-looking pixel art platform and exploration titles.
The engine’s mobile games reel is less technically interesting, but it does feature some slick-looking titles, like Javary Games‘ casual games Jump Down and Monster Mash.
