Last week we posted the first teaser for Star Trek Into Darkness – and now we have the first full-blown trailer for J.J. Abrams’ much-anticipated sequel!
There is a ton of more footage, though it still sheds little to no light onto the mystery of the villain played by Benedict Cumberbatch (who at least now has a name: John Harrison, according to a Paramount press still).
I like this new trailer a lot: it points out that Kirk (Chris Pine) is going to have some hard decisions to make as captain of the Enterprise. One thing that bugged me about the first film is that he did not have any life-or-death situations to figure out.
Updated 17 April 2013: Paramount has released a new trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness, upping the running time of the original by 30 seconds.
If you were on the fence first time round, there’s quite a bit to get your teeth into this time, including some nice environment and space scenes, the Enterprise looking (gulp) on its last legs – and best of all, a lot more of Benedict Cumberbatch, making being sinister look effortless.
Star Trek Into Darkness goes on international release from 9 May.
