Eye candy: awesome new Unreal video

Unreal Technologies has released a new features trailer for Unreal Engine 3.

Some of the content will already be familiar if you watched the video of the company’s tech demo from February’s Game Developers Conference, which leaked online last month.

But there are still some extremely impressive things in there, notably DirectX 11 features like tesselation and displacement (seen here used to create a smoke plume), deferred rendering with multi-sample anti-aliasing support, image-based reflections, hair, and subsurface scattering.

There are also glimpses of specific under-the-hood improvments, and a brief look at the editor in use for mobile content development. Cool stuff.
