Check out Realtime’s shape-shifting VFX for Doctor Who

Realtime has posted an engaging VFX breakdown for ‘Wild Blue Yonder‘, the second of three special episodes marking the 60th anniversary of long-running UK sci-fi series Doctor Who.

The effects include a mysterious, endlessly reconfiguring spaceship, and its inhabitants, the ‘Not-Things’: shape-shifting creatures that form bizarre, deforming doppelgangers of the Doctor (David Tennant) and Donna Noble (Catherine Tate).

Realtime also produced the specials’ title sequence in collaboration with Painting Practice. Check out see Painting Practice’s own making-of for the title sequence here.
