Eye candy: Nurulize’s amazing Rise UE4 VR demo

VR software developer Nurulize has posted an amazing VR demo running in real time in 4K on Unreal Engine 4, and viewable on the Oculus Rift DK2 – and, in slightly less immersive form, in the video above.

Spun out from a longer feature film project by director David Karlak, Rise tells the story of a robot uprising from the perspective of a captured sentient robot.

It looks pretty sweet, too
The VR demo “allows participants to experience a cinematic moment frozen in time” via a dynamic physical camera with accurate depth of field and a full 16-bit float scene for dynamic exposure adjustment.

The 3D assets are VFX-grade, too, captured using LIDAR, HDR photography, and the new xxArray facial and full-body scanning system, and overseen by ex-Method Studios artist – and Nurulize co-founder – Scott Metzger.

Nurulize says that it will be shortly be making the demo itself downloadable. You can sign up via the link below.
