Unity makes Android and iOS add-ons free to use

Unity Technologies has made the iOS and Android add-ons for Unity available for free to indie developers.

Like the core game engine itself, the two add-ons – which previously cost $800 in total – are now available free for commercial use by companies with an annual turnover of less than $100,000.

The Blackberry 10 and Windows Phone 8 add-ons will be made available under the same terms when they are released later this year.

Indie developers who purchased the Basic edition of either add-on in the past 30 days will be offered discounts on future purchases. The Pro licences of both add-ons remain priced at $1,500.
