If you queued up for yesterday’s midnight launch (and managed to avoid Cyclone Sandy), you’re already playing Assassin’s Creed III.
But if you were beaten back by the winds, the need to sleep (or the fact that the PC release isn’t until next month) Ubisoft has released a little taste of what you’re missing, in the shape of the official release trailer.
Unlike Digic Pictures’ superb E3 trailer, this one is in-game footage, so expect the usual Uncanny Valley issues when seeing characters up close. (Fixed and unblinking stares, not necessarily in the right direction.)
But the set pieces look good, and there glimpses of the reported crowd-rendering powers of Ubisoft’s new AnvilNext engine, in the shape of some largish-scale battles.
