Eye candy: Pixar’s latest Brave trailer

Thursday, November 17th, 2011 | Posted by Jim Thacker

Pixar has posted another trailer for Brave, its next full-length feature, which is due for release next June.

As befits the movie’s Scottish setting, there’s a lot of wild ginger digital hair on display, and the surrounding landscapes looks lovely.

It’s too early to tell much about the plot, and frankly, it’s irresponsible to even speculate, but… on this showing, it feels more conventional than much of Pixar’s output, with echoes of How to Train Your Dragon and Tangled.

Not that either of those is a bad thing: it’s just that they aren’t Pixar movies. Just saying.

I really did have the same impression. It looks very familiar to Train your Dragon especially the colors and environments.
Furthermore it sometimes seems that the sourroundings are more detailed as the characteres themselves.
The trailer still have some funny moments so I’m really looking forward to this. 🙂

Does anybody know if PIXAR is only working on one movie right now, or do they have two production teams?

Personally, I really like the feel, and as I loved HTTYD, I’m ok with it. I also am happy to finally see a female lead for a Pixar movie, and as a fan of Kelly McDonald, I think she will add some authenticity. Not sure how anyone sees Tangled in this one though. Forests and a girl on a horse are about all the overlap I can detect, and the girl on Tangled wasn’t exactly warrior stock.
