Well-known LightWave artist Craig ‘RebelHill’ Monins has just released a new auto-rigging toolset for version 9.6 of the software and above. RHiggit! streamlines the process of character set-up, automatically handling IK/FK switching and squash and stretch.
The Pro version of the toolset, which costs £119 (around $195), offers support for four different biped set-ups with varying degrees of complexity and functionality, two quadruped set-ups, and Jason Osipa-style facial controls.
Lite (£40: around $65) and Free versions of the software, the latter for non-commercial use only, offer reduced versions of the feature set.
And how easy is it to use? Responding to a request for video tutorials on CGTalk, Monins commented: “Honestly, as long as you have a rough idea of the difference between an arse and an elbow, you’ll be fine.” Nice.
