Rocket Science VFX has posted a VFX breakdown showing how it created, then destroyed, an entire suburban New York street for Netflix miniseries The Fall of the House of Usher.
For the Gothic horror drama, which is loosely based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, the Emmy Award-nominated boutique studio created a full CG version of the Usher family mansion and surrounding street: a build comprising 30 homes and their surrounding environment.
Sequences later in the series’ timeline show the street in increasing states of disrepair, then the collapse of the Usher house, with RSVFX referencing real demolition videos for the simulations.
