Luxion launches KeyShot Enterprise Edition

The demo video for KeyShot 5. Developer Luxion has just released a new Enterprise Edition of the software, which incorporates a top-of-the range Pro Floating licence and the three add-on modules.

Luxion has launched KeyShot Enterprise Edition: a deluxe edition of its intuitive lighting and rendering system that incorporates all of its add-ons, including KeyShot Animation, VR and Network Rendering.

What do you get for your money?
KeyShot comes in two base editions: the $995 KeyShot HD, which caps the resolution of real-time renders at 2.1 Megapixels, and the more expensive KeyShot Pro, which offers unlimited resolution.

(The Pro edition also offers a set of extra options that make workflow more similar to more traditional, more technical render engines, including a render queue, region rendering and render passes.)

The new Enterprise Edition takes the £2,995 KeyShot Pro Floating licence and throws in three add-on modules: Network Rendering (for 32 cores), VR, and Animation (for simple technical animations, not character work).

It also includes the NX software plugin, which enables users of Siemens NX 8.5 and 9 to import models into KeyShot complete with assembly structure, colour information and camera views, and live-link to the original file.

Pricing and availability
KeyShot 5 Enterprise Edition is available now for Windows and Mac OS X, price $3,995.

Even if you aren’t a NX user, it’s worth a look: you’d pay that much for a floating licence plus the Animation module and one year of network rendering anyway, so you effectively get the VR module for free.
