The Foundry announces Mari for Mac

The Foundry is to release Mari, its industry-standard 3D painting package, for Mac. The news was announced yesterday at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference, alongside the specifications of the new Mac Pro.

Although Macs aren’t the major part of The Foundry’s target market, the news will make a lot of diehard Apple fans very happy – and the fact that Mari was namechecked in Apple’s keynote presentation is a nice PR boost.

If you’re quick, you can catch a special WWDC session on Mari and its use on Monsters University from The Foundry’s Jack Greasley and Pixar’s Jonathan Hoffman, which goes out at lunchtime today, PDT.

You can find instructions for how to register for the session on The Foundry’s website.
